In Which I Learn I'm in for a Very Bumpy Ride
November 8: My husband and I are in the surgeon's office waiting for him to arrive.
The door opens, and before he even sits down, he says, "Yes, it's cancerous."
My stomach fell, I became numb, and my brain kind of shut down.
What's next?
I found out what's next is a bunch of tests, definitely some sort of surgery, definitely some chemotherapy, and possibly radiation, depending on what route I go for treatment.
Lumpectomy? Radiation and chemotherapy.
Mastectomy? Chemotherapy.
Mastectomy with reconstruction? Chemotherapy.
I'm not 100% sure which way I'm going.
