In Which I Am Recommended for Further Testing

After leaving the surgeon's followup, I am directed to the scheduling desk (this is the BEST SERVICE in the whole place because WOOOOO I don't have to call the central scheduling line to get my tests scheduled!)

I get scheduled for the following day to get genetically tested for the BRCA and all the other genes that could cause the cancer and thus increase the chance of recurrence.

Additionally I'm scheduled for a breast MRI on November 20th.

The genetic testing has to be done downtown at the main campus; the MRI can be done closer to home at the Medina hospital.

The breast MRI is absolutely not any fun at all. The genetic testing is just pulling a vial of blood and sending it for testing.

MRI
This was a lot of no fun. Think, going for a massage with all of the embarrassment with none of the fun. I had to lie on my stomach with my face in one of those open rings like on a massage table; each of my breasts had its own cute little cylinder for imaging, so they were just hanging out (literally, no top, no bra). My chest was supported on this tiny bar that separated the cylinders, my arms were outstretched in front of me so I looked like a really awkward Supergirl. After a while, my forehead really hurt from supporting my entire body, my shoulders ached, and I just wanted it to be done. The entire thing took around 30 minutes. Which I guess wasn't terrible but it seemed like a lot longer.
